Bringing New Life to Salvaged Barn Wood

Reclaimed barn wood has become increasingly popular among homeowners looking to add unique character to their homes without harming the environment. Using reclaimed wood in your home renovations is an earth-conscious way to reuse aged barn wood and give old barns new life.

Burning or rotting wood emits carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, and cutting down trees leads to deforestation and prevents greenhouse gasses from being absorbed, leading to global warming.

Our reclaiming process begins as we partner with demolition contractors who carefully salvage the barn wood. This process entails preserving the beauty and character of the barn wood, through carefully removing any nails or debris. After collecting the newly salvaged barn wood, it is brought to Cochran’s Lumber to be milled, on site, pre-finished by hand, and ready to install. Cochran’s is able to provide new life to aged barn wood through our commitment to this careful salvation process.

At Cochran’s Lumber, we help to reduce waste and preserve history by repurposing barn wood into quality pieces for your home. Click here to see an in depth video describing our process of reclaiming barn wood.
