When the owners of Three Peaks Ranch, Jon and Karen Sund set out to build a Gathering Place Cabin on their expansive Colorado Ranch, there was a very specific aesthetic to keep in mind. Three Peaks sits on 160 acres in Westcliffe, Colorado. Stunning mountain vistas and gorgeous natural landscape influence every architectural decision that the owners make.
The Gathering Place cabin was to be just that; a welcoming, rustic cabin that offers every modern convenience while allowing guest to gather, unwind, and soak up their surroundings. With an open floor plan, ample light streaming in, and handmade details throughout, the interior truly embodies modern-rustic design. Karen chose Cochran’s Antique Oak Distressed flooring, pre-finished with our clear, matte finish. The flooring perfectly complemented the surroundings, and pre-finishing allowed for easy installation. The character of the wood unifies the bright modern influences and dark accents layered throughout this luxurious retreat. Karen’s thoughtful selections in the space were well worth the effort: “It’s incredibly gorgeous flooring!”.
